2nd time at the wheel......3rd time...

I let Christopher drive home from school today. And I could actually breath this time I was more relaxed. I thought he turned to wide at a intersection but it was my opinion not his. I never said anything about the speed either. But we made it home once again safely. Tonight his Dad let him drive home from 5th Quarter. 5th quarter is a church get together for high school youth and their friends after a football game. He came in the door saying it is easier to drive with his dad in the car than me. WHY! Just because I am seating next to him white knuckled and not breathing.... I think I have been good. Besides it was dark in the car so he didn't see his dad's white knuckles and his face turning purple for not breathing ( I have not gotten Ken side of it yet, but he did come in smiling. ) Before Ken left to go pick up Christopher we checked the drivers manual and online and could not find anywhere that said he could not drive at night. Ken did find out that he can't drive past midnight to 6am. I know it has been a few years but I was thinking I couldn't drive past sundown for at least three months after getting my license. Ken has no memory of a night time ban for several months. I just IM my Mom and she said It was something like that. So I am not crazy after all........ No comments needed.

2nd part of Warning:

Christopher is now a licensed Driver. I think when they hand your child a drivers licenses they should hand the parents drugs. I let my son drive the few miles home. He has been driving since he was little. At four he started driving a golf cart around my parents farm. Several years ago I let him drive around the empty church parking lot. He also drives my Dad's truck and my suv at the farm. The boy can drive. But for some reason today when I pulled over to let him drive home my nerves took over. I don't think I breathed the whole time. Why is it when I drive going 40 is so slow but today when Christopher drove it felt like he was going way to fast. I wouldn't let him do the speed limit which was 45. He did everything correct but I was way to nervous to be able to set back and enjoy the ride. I thought when he got his license it would be cool. I could set back and enjoy the ride......oh was I wrong. I am thinking about buying one of those huge signs that read "Student Driver." That way people will stay away from our car. It will also let people know why he will be driving under the speed limit until he is thirty. Stay tuned cause I have a feeling this will be an on going story.

Birthday Pictures

Few pictures from his Big Day.

Christopher wanted a cake or cupcakes, vanilla and chocolate so he got lucky that Publix had everything he wanted in one container for Halloween. One of the ladies in the bakery added "Happy Birthday Chris" on the pumpkin. I thought I had birthday candles but didn't so I added a votive candle on a cupcake. Christophers Mema and Grandaddy (My Parents) came to town to be here for his Birthday.

Git-R-Done

I finally found my downloading cord for my Camera. I had it two days before Halloween then it was gone. I searched high and low but no cord. Then I found it last night and I was not even looking for it. I found it where I know I looked many times. Now I can share my pictures from Halloween. Christopher dressed as Larry the cable guy. The "Git-R-done" guy from Blue Collar comedy Tour. Christopher and his Cousins Amber and Alyssa went Trick or Treating in the neighborhood. Amber was dressed as a pirate and Alyssa was dressed as Amber's slave. Alyssa didn't want to be called a slave she wanted to be called a hostage. Nikki my Yorkie was dressed as a Nurse "RN". I don't know why but she is camera shy.

WARNING:

Don't adjust your screen, This is my Son with a Drivers license.
Yes, He is now a licensed driver. This afternoon, He drove the last few miles home. I never knew I could hold my breath so long. Christopher, I am so proud of you!
You are getting older!
OK, where did my hanky go....I need my hanky!

PAST BIRTHDAYS

Christopher 1st Birthday! This picture was from his Family Party on Friday night. On Saturday he had a Party for more family and friends. The house was full for both parties. The next trip we made to GA. (Vidalia) He had another party with more family. Christopher was the first Grandchild for both families. He was also was the youngest by several years from my Mom's family in Vidalia. We were still living in Jacksonville, Florida.
Yuck! is the title to this picture. He was not happy when the icing wasn't coming off his fingers. He had this cake all to his self. By the second cake he started figuring it all out.
Christopher 2nd Birthday was all Barney. This picture was from his party in Jacksonville with friends and family. The next morning we got up early and came home to have another Barney Birthday with friend in the neighborhood. I love you, You Love me...... I miss Barney.
Christopher 3rd Birthday. His theme was Batman and Pumpkins. He wanted his cake to have a Batman in a pumpkin patch. Remember he was three! Aunt Joyce made it just like he wanted. His party was in the Batcave (garage) with pumpkins everywhere. He also had a party durning snack at his preschool. Aunt Joyce is pictured with Chris below. This was just the first three birthdays!

Happy Halloween!

I hope every one got the treats and not the tricks. Christopher dressed this year as "Larry the Cable Guy "Git-R-Done" . (pictures will be added when I find the cable to download the pictures from my camera) Christopher's cousins Amber and Alyssa came over to go trick or treating and then plan to go to our church where we have a fall festival. Amber was dressed as a Pirate and Alyssa as her hostage. Nikki (my Yorkie) dressed as a nurse. After going out trick or treating the kids came back to show their goodies. Kim took Amber and Chris to the church. Chris had signed up to work the last shift at the festival. While Alyssa stayed with Ken to hand out more treats. I went to pick up our pizza. When I got back, most of the lights inside the house was turn down. I could see Ken (with a mullet wig on) and Alyssa was standing by the doorway of the kitchen watching the movie "Halloween 3". During and after our dinner Alyssa and I handed out more candy while watching the movie. I told Kim when she got back that it was her brothers fault when her daughter would be sleeping with her tonight.
Treats from the past:
Christophers first Halloween 1991
, was when he was one day old. We were still in the hospital, My Mom borrowed the pumpkin from the nurses station for his first Halloween picture.

Second Halloween 1992, Chris was dressed as a cowboy. I made the vest and chaps. He is so cute. Pictured with his Mema.

Third Halloween 1993, Chris was dressed as his favorite character, Barney. His life was Barney, Barney and more Barney. I love you, You love me............... At that time you could not find a Barney costume so I made him one. OK I liked Barney too, I still do.

Forth Halloween 1993, He was dressed as Peter Pan. His cousin Rachel (1yr. old) was Tinkle bell. I also made this costume.

Happy 15th Birthday!

Yesterday, Christopher turned 15 year old that is 180 months old to those cousins that still have little ones. Christopher cell phone also has the months, days, hours, minutes and seconds till his next birthday. Please don't rush it, it will be here in fast enough. God has bless me by allowing me to be Christophers Mother for the past 15 years plus the amazing nine months he grew inside my womb. He is one of my biggest prayers that God answered. He is such a gentleman, at lease that is what I am told by several women at Church. I get to see all the sides of Christopher which is not always sweet. But, he is a teenager with hormones. He is still a loving child that still needs his mother, Not as much as I might want sometimes but happy that He is becoming the Man that God is calling him to be. What that will be only God knows but I have faith that Christopher will continue walking in path that God has in front of him. As his mother I still want to jump in when I see others not doing right by my son but I am learning to let him handle the situations. I give advise he usually doesn't want to hear, and pray that God gives him wisdom to handle all that he faces. Christopher and I can butt heads sometimes because we are so much alike in a lot of ways. We also misunderstand each other a lot, But I feel we are still very close. I pray he will always come to me with the good and the bad. I will always see him as my baby but I am starting to see the man. His summer was made when he finally got taller than me. Next goal is getting taller than his Father. Which might not be far off (I hope so). His feet or now bigger than all his uncles and Grandfathers. So I am hoping the height will be next. Christopher is smart like his Dad, I just need to get him to use all of his brain. He is very handy around the house just like me. I always have to remember that God is in control. I might not like where the road leads but by the time I get there are right after I leave it is always where I needed to be. Christopher always keep your head up and focus what God has in front of you. And remember that peer pressure sometimes will led you the wrong way. Don't ever forget ASAP2GOD & I love you and I am always proud of you in what ever you do as long as you give your all. Happy Birthday Christopher.
