Another First
Well my son had another first in his life last week (Where is his baby book). He has his first broken bone and cast. Last Monday he went to his high school football trainer to look at his wrist and to get it taped up for weight lifting class. She told him he might better get a x-ray taken to make sure he didn't have any thing broken. She didn't feel anything but because he still couldn't put pressure on his wrist she thought it would be a good idea (Ya Think?) Christopher called me before one of his classes to tell me what she said. After I finally made a appointment I had to go to the football field where my son is practicing football..... as I walk up to his group I see him blocking with another player...a hard hit. He already had bruises from the hits he already had before I got there. Thank goodness his wrist was taped up. So I took him to the sports Doctor who works with our football team. He had a x-ray in the office and within minutes it was on the computer screen in our room. I looked and I thought we were lucky nothing was broken.... this is why they haven't hired me to read x-rays. I saw the line across the bone but thought it was suppose to look like that. Well, the doctor took one look and asked Christopher what sports he plays and then told him he was done for the baseball season and would miss spring football training. Now you would think this would upset my son but he had never had a broken bone so he was excited about getting a cast. Is this a boy thing? Well the excitement lasted for a day. He is so bord at football practice having nothing to do but stand around, baseball is as boring if he isn't keeping the score book for his dad. He is lucky because he only has to keep it on for 4 weeks so only 3 weeks to go..YEA! Since I am such a loving Mom, when we went by the pool in our neighborhood I told him that I think I might go swimming tonight after church! He said yea that's a great idea...... then seconds later.... M-O-M!!!!!! He kinda got mad when it hit him he was not going swimming until the cast comes off. OK so it was not nice.... but he did smile in between the yelling LOL.

My son said that was mean, but I say . . . don't we have kids so we can do things like this. And embarrass them at the mall? And when they're with their friends? And yeah, the badge of honor at getting a cast IS a boy thing.
Can you even find Christopher's baby book?
I hope he heals quickly. Losing use of a body part is not fun. Anyone who has ever been pregnant and lost sight of their feet would understand.
How's the slugger doing now?
